The Met Presents Della Robbia Sculpture in a New Light

New conservation work and digital media bring renewed attention to the Della Robbia family’s glazed terracotta legacy.

The Met has opened Rediscovering Della Robbia at The Met, an exhibition examining the Florentine family and workshop’s contributions to Renaissance sculpture. On view from August 10, 2026, through January 17, 2028, it brings together newly conserved works from the museum’s holdings, the largest Della Robbia collection in the United States.nnFigural reliefs, statuettes, and architectural designs are reconsidered through research, conservation, and digital media. The exhibition also introduces Giovanni della Robbia’s Mystic Mandorla, a recent gift from the Dick Wolf Collection.
